Frequently Asked Questions
Dancin’ Woofs Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I bring a friend to the first class talk who may be considering training?
Please do! The first class talk is a great source of information for any dog lover.
Can I bring family members to observe and train?
Yes! All we ask is that one person work the dog during each class. Children under 16 must be accompanied at all times and can begin working the dog on the 3rd class or earlier with trainer approval. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a non-participating adult at all times while on premise.
Do I bring my dog to the first class?
No, the first class is an hour-and-a-half talk on how dogs learn and training information. Please bring to the first class the veterinary records of your dog’s vaccinations including bordatella.
What if I need to miss a class due to scheduling or illness?
If illness/injury/personal challenges force you to miss a class or drop out, please call and let us know this in advance, as you might be able to re-take the sessions you missed in the next round of classes. Only one make-up class is allowed, or one retake of entire class.
Do I need special collars, leads or toys for class?
All your supply needs will be covered during the first class. We use a limited slip martingale collar to help teach the dogs not to pull but may also suggest a Gentle Leader or Easy Walk Harness. We do not allow choke leads or prong collars. If you feel one is necessary please call and let’s see what we can do to meet your needs. You will also need a 6′ lead and a 15′ lead for intermediate class. You may purchase them at our retail store or at a local dog outfitter. Make sure that you wear comfortable, casual clothing.
What vaccinations are required for all classes?
DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus).
Bordetella within the last 6 months.
Rabies at 6 months of age.
